Lekan Omoniwa

Lekan has strong experience in investment and management of greenfield and secondary assets in the energy infrastructure sector. He has worked on both the advisory side (WSP, Mott MacDonald, Fichtner & Arup) and client side (Equitix) on a range of deals and projects at the origination, investment appraisal, acquisition, due diligence, active asset management and divestment stages.
In his previous role at a European private equity infrastructure fund (Equitix), he worked as a director in a team responsible for £2 billion AUM (£15 billion EV) in the energy (power generation) and environmental services sector. He had sectoral lead responsibility for investment appraisal in emerging energy technologies such as energy storage systems (battery energy storage (BESS), compressed and liquid air energy storage (CAES, LAES), pumped hydro storage (PHS)), hydrogen, carbon capture and storage (CCS), sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), advanced thermal technologies, and smart grid systems.
He has held board directorship roles on several operational and under-construction assets and portfolio companies in the energy sector.
Lekan is a UK-registered Chartered Engineer, Chartered Director, and Fellow of the Institute of Directors, with a strong background in engineering, commercial, financial and infrastructure management. He is passionate about renewable energy and innovation, and the development and growth of sustainable, low-carbon energy solutions that benefit the environment and society at large.
